Welcome to Quiet Heart Wilderness School.  Established in 1997, Quiet Heart is a wilderness education program designed to enhance students understanding of the natural world, and instill in them a sense of stewardship toward their planet and its creatures. Through exploration of nature, as well as the sharing of knowledge and lore of the Ancestors, Quiet Heart students gain a sense of comfort and respect for the natural world of which they are a part.  Led by experienced instructors, students will find courses and programs on topics such as primitive and survival skills, edible and medicinal plants, animal tracking, wilderness navigation, awareness skills, team building and problem solving.  Quiet Heart’s various programs range from “Through the eyes of a Naturalist” our preschool program, "OWLE" for 8 to 15 year olds, and many other family programs and courses.  Quiet Heart is all about learning by doing and having fun.

Quiet Heart has been serving families of South Snohomish and North King Counties from Seattle and Shoreline to Woodinville and Redmond  for over 15 years!

RIBBED BASKET MAKING WORKSHOP- 9:00 to 12:30-April 6th- At the Quiet Heart Lodge in Lynnwood – Open to Ages, 12Years and older – Class maximum is 10 - $75

NATURAL SALVES WORKSHOP – 10:00 to Noon – May 18th – At the Quiet Heart Lodge in Lynnwood – Open to Ages, 10 Years and older – Class maximum is 8 - $55

PINE NEEDLE BASKETS WORKSHOP – 10:00 to 2:00 – June 1st – At the Quiet Heart Lodge in Lynnwood – Open to Ages, 10 Years and older – Class maximum is 8 - $65

FAMILY TRACKING WORKSHOP- 10:00 to 3:00-Saturday June 8th- Meet at a Local Wildlife Park- Group maximum is 5 families- $60 per family.

SHARING NATURE with CHILDREN – 9:00 to 4:00 – June 22nd –Location TBA – Open to Ages, 18 Years and older – Class maximum is 10 - $85

KNIFE MAKING WORKSHOP – 10:00 to 4:00 – July 13^th - At the Quiet Heart Lodge in Lynnwood – Open to Ages 8 and up, for students under 10 we recommend having an adult partner - $80 plus the blade - Group maximum is ten

SIMPLE METAL CAN STOVES – First of a series on Simple Stoves - 10:00 to 1:00 – July 27th – At the Quiet Heart Lodge in Lynnwood – Open to Ages, 10 Years and older – Class maximum is 10 - $50

INTRODUCTION TO FLINTKNAPPING – 10:00 to 2:00 – August 3rd – At the Quiet Heart Lodge in Lynnwood – Open to Ages, 10 Years and older – Class maximum is 8 - $75

LONGBOW MAKING WORKSHOP – August 10^th and 11^th – At the Quiet Heart Lodge in Lynnwood – Open to All Ages, for students under 10 we recommend having an adult partner – Tuition is $215

NATURAL DYES – 10:00 to 2:00 – August 17th – Location TBA - Open to Ages, 8 Years and older – Class maximum is 10 - $65

DEVELOPING A DEEPER RELATIONSHIP WITH NATURE – 10:00 to 4:00 – September 21st – Location TBA – Open to Ages, 18 Years and older – Class maximum is 10 - $75

WILLOW BASKET WORKSHOP – coming this Fall. Class size  is maximum 6.

~SUMMER CAMPS~

SUMMER IN THE WOODS AT YOST - 9:00 to 3:00 - Monday through Friday - Begins June 24^th and runs through August 16^th – Four 2 week sessions - Ages 7 to 13 - $325 for a two week session

ANIMAL TEACHINGS   9:00 to 3:00 - Monday through Friday – Two one week Sessions of Defensive Movement learned from animals – Session 1 is Aug 19^th to 23^rd – Session 2 is Aug 26^th to 30th - Ages 9 to 14 - Group maximum is twelve - $165 for a week

TEEN CAMP   8:30 to 3:30 - Monday through Friday at Yost Park in Edmonds – Session 1 runs the week of July 8^th to 12 – Session 2 is July 15^th to 19th - Ages 12 to 16 - Group maximum is ten – Tuition $175 for a week

LITTLE CHIPMUNKS CAMP - 10:00 TO 1:00 – Three day sessions of playing in the Lynnwood woods. Session 1 is June 24th, 26^th & 28^th - Session 2 is July 1^st, 3^rd & 5^th - Session 3 is July 8^th, 10^th & 12th. – Your choice of one or all three sessions – Open to students ages 4 & 6 - Group maximum is ten - $85 per session

 BEAR CAMP – 9:00 TO 3:00 – Monday through Friday – Thee week of July 22^nd thru 26^th at Bear Creek Camp in Woodinville – Ages 7 to 13 - Tuition is $175 per week

SELF SUFFICIENCY CAMP - 9:00 TO 3:00 – 4 Days of wonderful fun projects – Session 1 is July 1^st to 5^th – Session 2 is July 15^th to 18th – At the Quiet Heart Lodge – Ages 8 to 13 - Group maximum is eight - $200 per session

PRIMITIVE SKILLS CAMP - 9:00 TO 3:00 – Monday through Thursday – 4 Days of intense projects - Two Sessions – Session 1 July 23^rd to 26^th is at the Quiet Heart Lodge in Lynnwood – Session 2 July 29^th to Aug 1^st is at Bear Creek Camp in Woodinville – Open to all students ages 8 to 13 - Group maximum is ten - $190 per session

3 DAY SURVIVAL – August 13^th, 14^th & 15th – Must be 13 or older and have some outdoor experience – Must register by May 1^st – Group maximum is six - $215
