Welcome to Quiet Heart Wilderness School. Established in 1997, Quiet Heart is a wilderness education program designed to enhance students understanding of the natural world, and instill in them a sense of stewardship toward their planet and its creatures. Through exploration of nature, as well as the sharing of knowledge and lore of the Ancestors, Quiet Heart students gain a sense of comfort and respect for the natural world of which they are a part. Led by experienced instructors, students will find courses and programs on topics such as primitive and survival skills, edible and medicinal plants, animal tracking, wilderness navigation, awareness skills, team building and problem solving. Quiet Heart’s various programs range from “Through the eyes of a Naturalist” our preschool program, Owle for 8 to 15 year olds, Ancestral Skills Apprenticeship Program for teens and many other family programs and courses. Quiet Heart is all about learning by doing and having fun.

FIELD AND FOREST OUTDOOR PRESCHOOL
OPEN HOUSE- SUNDAY FEBRUARY 12, 2012!
Field & Forest opened on Monday, September 19th, 2011 with several happy shining faces just waiting to explore the natural world in this wonderful setting. Since September the class size has grown and soon a second school day will be offered. The children are having a wonderful time learning in the great outdoors and Eaglewoman & I couldn't be happier!

Winter Outings- GOT CABIN FEVER YET? Does your wilderness student need to stretch their legs this winter? We have two outings to offer you and your family.
"Scout Day"- January 28th 9:00 am to 3:00 pm- Bob Heirman Wildlife Refuge on the Snohomish River led by Eric "Little Bear" Kitching. $55.00 per student. Four student min.
"Tracking & Stalking"- February 11th- 9:00am to 3:00 pm at Lords Hill Regional Park led by our certified tracker, Steve "Junco" Nicolini. $55.00 per student. Min. 3 students, max. 6 students.
Spring OWLE 2012- Registration opens to the public January 15, 2012. If you are currently an OWLE student and wish to continue with us in the Spring, please let us know ASAP. Camp starts March 2nd for Friday OWLE tribes and March 3rd for Saturday tribe.
"Summer in
the Woods" 2012- We will take registration for summer camps beginning
February 15, 2012. As always, $100. deposit holds your camper's spot at camp.
Please submit completed registration and deposit...it's never too early to
plan ahead! DUE TO THE SNOW DAYS IN JANUARY
ADDITIONAL SCHOOL DAYS HAVE BEEN ADDED TO THE SCHOOL YEAR. EXPECT TO SEE
